Job Duties: Provide operational support and guidance to customers to support the management and use of EMC storage solutions. Allocate storage using Auto-provisioning feature of VMAX using Symcli and SMC to VMware ESX, Linux, Windows, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris servers. Provision storage from CLARiiON arrays to multiple operating systems using Navisphere and Unisphere. Implement Virtual/Thin Provisioning feature from VMAX/DMX4 using Symcli and SMC. Prepare remediation reports to identify the software requirements to remediate the servers to current EMC standards. Design migration methods by discussing with system/database administrators and application owners. Create Maximo change requests and Nexus Work requests for the migration schedules. Migrate data from DMX/CX to VMAX using array based technologies like Open replicator, SRDF, SanCopy. Migrate data from DMX/CX to VMAX using host based technologies like Open Migrator, LVM mirroring, ASM rebalance. Perform remote replication between DMX4 to VMAX using SRDF AR/A/S for disaster recovery. Implement and configure Business Continuity Solutions TimeFinder Mirror/Clone for Symmetrix DMX/VMAX. Design the migration methods for clustered environments like SUN, Veritas, Oracle RAC and Windows Clusters. Create and implement FAST policies based on performance requirements. Install and configure PowerPath for AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, Linux and Windows Operating Systems to support the load balancing and failover features among the HBAs on the system. Perform SAN migration from Brocade/McData directors to Cisco directors as a part of storage refresh project. May be assigned to various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
Job requirements: Bachelors degree in Comp. Sci., Eng.(any), Business, Math, Physics, or related technical field plus 24 months experience in job offered or computer-related occupation. Experience must include: 1) Daily Maintenance and administration of enterprise storage that included EMC storage arrays (VMAX, DMX and CX Arrays), 2) Administration of Advanced EMC storage technologies (SRDF, Mirrorview, Open Replicator, Sancopy), 3) VNX, 4) Celerra 5) Centera products, and 6) Installed and configured hardware and OS on servers, workstations and I/O devices on SUN Fire and SPARC environment. Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
