We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer (.NET) with a strong background in document creation. We are building a next generation document creation system and need someone who understands nested templating, XML, XSL, XSL-FO. Do you speak in fluent XML and PostScript? Great, but attention to detail is also a must. If the second period at the end of the prior sentence irritates you, you might be a fit.
The documents you will assist in creating a system to generate will be viewed on-line and printed on massive industrial printers, so a good understanding of PostScript will help you a lot; either way, strict adherence to real world tolerances and layout are a must. MAJOR
Responsibilities:
Operate effectively as a member of the development team.
Operates effectively as an individual for quick turnaround of enhancements and fixes.
A deep personal commitment to meeting expectations and deliverables on time and with a high quality.
Build new systems with the latest web technologies
Demonstrate creative, technical and analytical skills.
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments.
Consult on and develop robust architecture and write technical specifications
Design and develop features for existing platforms
Assist in designing and implementing interfaces for interaction with upstream and downstream partners
Assist in designing and developing strategies for the deployment of key services
Participate in an experienced, energetic team and contribute to a defined development schedule
All other responsibilities as assigned
Will occasionally be required to work outside usual hours of business in order to support releases without impeding access to services during usual business hours, or to support production systems as needed
EDUCATION/
Experience:
BS in technology related field, or 6
years demonstrated industry experience on similar successful projects
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Strong desire to develop and innovate new technology
Must be self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible, strong on team collaboration, exhibit exceptional relationship management skills, and strive for excellence
Must work well in a structured change control and billing environment
Ability to manage an application through the entire development life cycle and to manage and account for time effectively
Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment, as well as new concepts and software
Passionate about building high-quality systems with software implementation best practices
Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
Comfort working with resources across disciplines in a production environment and at all client levels
Deep knowledge of .NET Framework 3.5/4.0/4.5
Deep knowledge of nested templating, document creation, emphasis on PDF and PostScript file outputs
Deep knowledge of XML, XSL, XSL-FO
Expert knowledge of RDBMS platforms (5
years), SQL Server 2008/2012, Oracle experience will be considered.
Experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, business logic, data access)
Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA)
Strong knowledge of version control systems, with a preference for TFS
Strong knowledge of testing strategies at the unit and application levels

years experience with ASP.NET

years experience gathering business requirements and developing technical specifications
OPTIONAL/ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Experience with jQuery or other JavaScript libraries
Experience with EDI standards a plus
Experience with EFT standards and processes a plus
