_SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
_
The Administrative Specialist will assist with processing of regulatory utility rate filings, tariff schedules, e-filing, and maintaining and organizing regulatory document files. The majority of the job is spent in an office environment using a personal computer.
_DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS_

Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Assist in the development and processing of filings made by the Company with the Montana Public Service Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
Utilize basic personal computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.) to develop reports and presentations, aid in file research, provide document control and support the accuracy, reliability and deliverability of end work products
Perform assigned duties in accordance with prescribed project schedules and deadlines, applicable laws, rules, regulations and Company policies within approved budgets
Work closely with Regulatory and Legal Department personnel and personnel in other areas within the Company to gather, maintain and distribute information to support timely and quality completion of filings and other projects
Maintain the Regulatory Affairs paper and electronic document retention/filing systems
Work with the Legal and Office Services Departments to ensure filings are processed and submitted in a timely manner
Apply orders and actions issued by the Montana Public Service Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to maintain the regulatory calendar
Process department expenses through the Company's internal SAP accounting system
Work within teams and work groups to accomplish organizational goals
Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
Occasional overtime may be required
Assist with planning the logistics and preparing for Company meetings, events and hearings
_GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to demonstrate a good safety record
Must have a minimum of three years of experience in an office setting with administrative responsibilities including working with others to finalize, distribute and track external communications and/or filings, and developing and maintaining related complex paper and electronic document filing systems
Must be customer focused
Must possess strong interpersonal relationship building skills, and excellent oral and written communications skills
High school diploma or equivalent is required, post high school education and/or relevant training is preferred
Must have strong word processing skills (Microsoft Excel, Word Access and PowerPoint)
Must be proficient with Adobe Acrobat Pro (not Adobe Reader) including the ability to label, redact, convert and otherwise work with PDF files
Must possess strong organizational skills
Must be willing to work under occasionally rigorous deadlines and have the ability to balance multiple competing priorities simultaneously
Must be able to maintain continuous focus on accuracy and attention to details
Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently
Must be comfortable working with others and be able to work effectively in teams as assigned and accept functional direction from team leaders
Must become familiar with NorthWestern Energy's policies and procedures, and filing processes and requirements.
