SALARY RANGE: $34,500/Bachelors; $36,500/ Masters; 9 Month/ Faculty Appointment/Excellent Benefits Package/Paid Sick Leave/Retirement. Additional pay available for overloads and summer. Normal load is 15 credit hours per semester; hours may include evening and online classes.
Duties and
Responsibilities: Include teaching courses in Sound Engineering, Digital Audio Production, Live Sound, MIDI, Acoustics, Electronics and in the candidates area of specialization. This position reports to the Chair of Commercial Music.
Requires: Master's degree (DMA, MFA or other terminal degree preferred) in Sound Design, Audio Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Audio/Music Production, Music Composition, Acoustics, Film or a related field is preferred. Candidates not meeting the minimum credentialing requirements must submit a portfolio/demo reel outlining professional experience along with application materials. Three to five years of professional experience is required for this position along with the ability to communicate to a diverse student population.
Experience with multi-format analog and digital consoles is required. Expert knowledge of Avids Pro Tools, Apple Logic, Propellerheads Reason, Native Instruments and Apple products is required with advanced certification desirable. Candidates must have extensive live and studio production experience working with consoles similar to the Soundcraft SI 1, Toft ATB 24, Yamaha 02R and others. Advanced proficiency in video editing, lighting and multimedia production is desirable. Proficiency on an instrument including guitar or percussion enhances the candidates qualifications. Candidate may teach other courses in the Commercial Music program according to area of specialization and departmental need. Candidates with theatrical lighting and sound design experience and audio electronics repair are particularly encouraged to apply.
Ability to deal with students, faculty, and staff members in professional manner. Must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others. Ability to clearly communicate. Must comply with established College rules and procedures. This position is security sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorized the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Must receive and maintain security clearance for the prison system.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
