Job Description
Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. (MEAU) is seeking a Project Manager (Automotive) who is responsible for providing to MEAU Management the Key Accounts project requirements. The Project Manager is assigned to high profile Automotive accounts, in order to facilitate communication between all appropriate MEAU departments and locations, and authorized Distributors, partners, and Systems Integrators (SI'S) when coordinating support activities at assigned key accounts.
This position is located at the Central Region Branch Office located in Northville, MI.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Understand all aspects of the assigned project from a commercial and technical standpoint.
Maintain a working understanding of all products and services offered by MEAU in order to impact Technical Sales, Service, and Marketing. A thorough understanding of MEAU and PC software as well as all proprietary, open networks, and control technologies is required.
Work with and manage all third-party contractors associated with assigned projects.
Act as a Team Leader in order to keep Sales personnel, Field Application and Project Engineers on track and focused supporting specific projects requirements.
Understand all technology aspects required at Key Accounts within specified disciplines (i.e. material handling, machine tool, assembly, paint, stamping, IT, etc.).
Coordinate additional project opportunities with MEAU departments: Technical Service and Support (TSS), Technical Support Group (TSG), Field Sales, and Product and Industry Marketing, and Customer Care for thorough project coordination. Provide these departments updates on all significant project issues identifying dollar potential, time-lines, manpower requirements, etc.
Coordinate all resources for fulfillment of support and services: issue resolution during all project phases (i.e. specification and design, machine controls engineering, programming, networking, IT, machine installation, startup, debug, and launch phases etc.) to ensure on-time delivery of hardware and software components.
Help coordinate with the commercial sales person warranty agreements, spare parts for customerlocations, software maintenance programs and issues.
Coordinate Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM''s) bill of material for spare part needs, delivery, and training requirements.
Coordinate with end users and OEM's forboth short-term and long-term training strategies for corporate and plant personnel requirements.
Help coordinate with the commercial sales personproper inventory levels at our distribution outlets and/or Vernon Hills facility - as well as ensuring that distribution / Vernon Hills properly orders all required products to meet customers current and future project needs.
Coordinate with the commercial sales person all communications relative to the availability of components, changes to components, problems and resolutions for component problems - provide written reports pertaining to equipment builder order, deliveries, etc. as needed.
Direct investigation and documentation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and if warranted, implement corrective action. Coordinate the appropriate resources to resolve problems.
Help coordinate and track with the commercial sales person all warranty items. Implement a failure report, analysis and corrective action program which include describing the problem in detail, implement and verify interim containment actions, define and verify root cause, verify effectiveness of permanent corrective action, implement permanent corrective action, and prevent reoccurrence on similar processes/products.
Coordinate and document all hardware and software integration testing as needed, including 1) all third party controls products and 2) interfaces (drivers) to Information Technology (IT) systems.
Provide status reports including timelines and reports showing planned and actual progress.
Coordinate the review of equipment suppliers'' prints to ensure proper component selection and application.
Work with Key Accounts MEAU engineers to assess risk factors in the specifications. Participate in the controls deviation process, as required. Help create functional specifications for the project including hardware and software requirements, interfacing details, third party equipment involvement, data flow and organization.
Attend simultaneous engineering and progress meetings, leading run-off and subsequent run-offs at the equipment supplier sites, and interact and assist in any technical issues that arise both at the equipment supplier site and the key account sites.

As required to manage Projects. Typically 25% to 35% in the continental US and Mexico.
Required Skills
Project Management Certification.
Combined 9
years' experience in Sales, Application and Engineering with all major MEAU product categories.
Experience in project management.
Displays professionalism and is competent and self-supporting in complex Project Management situations and Sales Support at large Automotive Key Accounts, including OEM's.
Ability to motivate individuals by relying on leadership and teamwork characteristics.
Ability to develop and maintain in-depth, up-to-date technical knowledge, including the latest MEAU products, and to serve as escalated technical resource (subject matter expert SME ).
Technical writing skills.
Customer service and phone skills.
Professional, patient, positive, confident communication style and attitude.
Ability to write and perform technical product and solution training for groups.
Organization skills, i.e. for documents, demos, work area and time management.
Required Experience
BS in an Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5-7 years Application Solution Sales/Support Experience at End User, and OEM customers.
