Summary
Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts or machines that need new parts or need to be replaced and places orders as necessary. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Reports to maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
oMonitors machine health through temperature or vibration characteristics at predetermined checkpoints.
oChecks machine level and alignment at predetermined checkpoints.
oRecords machine operating parameters using pre-made charts.
oDismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective mechanical and electrical parts.
oInspects gears, pulleys, wheels, chains, journals, sleeves, etc for wear and tear.
oCleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
oRemoves dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines that are not accessible by oerators.
oPaints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
oBends and cuts conduit and wire, and drills holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for electrical connections.
oRun pipe, hose and pneumatic fitting for service and process compressed dry air requirements basing on plans, schematics or instructions.
oConnects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape.
oBends, cuts, and threads pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
oCuts out and joins parts for worktables, benches, shelves and other furnishings.
oPatches or replaces plaster or plaster board and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of building.
oClears clogged drains, and replaces plumbing fixtures.
oOperates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
oHas a complete inventory of predetermined tools for job accomplishment.
oCleans work area, tools, and equipment.
oPerforms machine PM per schedule.
oPerforms other routine duties.
oAttends classes/seminars for job skills improvement.
oLogs PM sheets and Pass down sheets.
Other Duties
As assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
High school diploma; 2-4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
