Summary: The assignments of this position will be in the areas of electrical power and electrical controls. This position will provide continuous and effective electrical and/or control system project management from inception through start-up; provide electrical engineering analysis, evaluation, and technical support to the operating units. On assigned projects, perform the necessary engineering functions to attain the proper installation and start-up of industrial power systems up to 4,160 volt; organize the design resources, supervise the design efforts, generate specifications, coordinate procurement and achieve the company''s objectives regarding capacity, operability, economics and timelines. This position will be involved in the selection of approved contractors and will decide which systems are best suited for a specific application and how they are to be installed. On assigned projects, perform the necessary engineering functions to attain the proper installation and start-up of industrial control systems including programmable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI) systems. Be familiar with OSHA regulations and by working with safety coordinators; become familiar with Tyson''s safety regulations; provide engineering design for new projects and utility systems; working knowledge of applicable codes that pertain to development of Mechanical Engineering standards; coordinate project design work including planning, design calculations, flow sheets, Mass Balance review and validation, mechanical layouts, piping diagrams, electrical, insulation, etc. This position interact with other engineering disciplines and maintain current project knowledge of project cost and assume responsibility for project cost management; consult with accounting personnel relative to project accounting procedures and project costs; interact and coordinate project activities with all levels of Operations and Engineering management.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
Experience: 2
years'' experience.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office; knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Capable of working on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude while requiring limited supervision; has demonstrated repeated ability to complete complex projects on time and on budget while achieving company objectives; good knowledge of a variety of the Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering disciplines concepts, practices, and procedures; possesses a willingness to acquire PLC control system skills/acquire skills in PLC programming and start-up of HMI systems/acquire skills in the design, layout, and start-up of industrial control networks including Ethernet, proprietary networks and PLC protocols.
