We are seeking one full time Assistant Teacher for our Waukegan Early
Learning Center.
Job
Summary:
Assists the Teacher with day to day activities, active involvement with children, lesson planning, communicating with parents, nurturing children, and helping to make sure the classroom is clean and safe at all times.
Summary of essential job functions:
Uses positive approaches to help children to solve problems.
Assists in arranging classroom in well-defined learning centers that are clearly labeled, clutter-free reflect childrens interests and encourage independent use.
Provides input into a curriculum which is responsive to childrens individual needs, interests and developmental levels.
Provides leadership, maintains routines and follows the lesson plan in the absence of the classroom teacher.
Follows all safety and health rules for the center, including all state, federal, NAEYC and One Hope Uniteds health and safety guidelines.
Supervises children by sight and sound at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: HS Diploma/ GED-18 years old. Two years college with six ECE credits or CDA preferred.
Experience: 1 year in ECE setting or bilingual skills and willing to obtain six hours of ECE credit within 1 year.
