Summary:
This position is responsible for inspection of Class 9 and Class 2 hazardous parts for Air and Ground transportation.
Essential Functions:
o Inspection of Class 2 & Class 9 Hazardous materials for DOT compliance
o Completing paperwork with proper compliance
o Customer Service and Tracking
o Data Entry
Scope and Accountability:
Completes tasks that are generally routine. Applies basic technical and procedural knowledge; some formal training or experience is required to perform the job effectively. Follows detailed and defined rules/instructions and applies simple judgment to solve problems.
Qualification Requirements:
Knowledge:
HS Diploma or equivalent.
Certification:Training/certification in 49CFR and IATA for automotive parts is required.
Training will be provided and must be completed within 90 days.
Skills:
o Organizational skills
o Customer service skills
o Proficient with Excel and Word
o Detail oriented
o Excellent written and verbal skills
o Customer service skills
o Multi-task
Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience. Dangerous Good Certified for Auto Parts preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in a light industrial environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to industrial equipment.
