## DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
Project Management Experience is a top priority for this manager and if they have a mechanical engineering background in New Component Introductions (NCI) that would be a huge plus.
Investigate, devise solution, and drive implementation of reliability issues on the locomotive.
This will include, but not be limited to, development of concept and detailed designs for locomotive cab structure and packaging on locomotive.
Support projects led by the Locomotive Sourcing team that involve dual sourcing and cost reduction.
Will include, but not be limited to, reviewing proposed vendor, NCI execution, drawing updates as required.
Both reliability project execution and sourcing support will involve, but not be limited to:
Coordinate with other engineering sub-system teams, systems engineering and manufacturing team in Erie, PA
Complete design work and design analysis as required to meet design goals.
Write drawing change orders and interface with the drafting team for layouts, detail design, drawings and change implementation.
Review and approve designs developed by Locomotive designers & 2-D detailed drawings completed by drafting.
Follow Locomotive (client) processes such as Design Review TG steps, Reliability TG, NCI, etc.
Strong interpersonal skills, good written and oral communication skills.
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
Required:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ABET or equivalent accredited program
Minimum 3 years experience in engineering position
Preferred:
Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience providing engineering support in a manufacturing environment
