Sr. Technical Writer (Contract)
Perform writing tasks for technical documents, such as user manuals, architectural overviews, code summarization, new hire documentation, help documents, and tutorials. Requires effective planning, scheduling, researching, and writing skills. Responsible for performing usability testing with clients on documentation and utilizing feedback to improve documentation and standards. Selects the appropriate media and distribution methods, develops communications that clearly document all aspects of processes and procedures.
This person filling this position must be able to coordinate with others, motivate others to provide the details that are needed to complete their own work with minimal need for supervision. He or she will document highly complex existing production processes, systems, components, and to create high level summaries of existing code for internal consumption by technology leaders and developers alike. An understanding of relational databases would be a significant plus.
MAJOR
Responsibilities:
Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads more complex technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures and specifications to ensure accuracy and the most straightforward wording.
Composes material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures for software and processes.
Assists in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations to meet business needs.
Interviews software engineers, database developers, and other technical personnel; Reads previous documentation and design notes, and uses computer based training or company technical products to gather and research technical information for use in more complex documentation.
Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology, maintains records and files of work and revisions, will include screen shots of relevant components or flow charts / diagrams of process or procedure as appropriate.
Creates, compiles, and delivers more complex system/software developmental documentation packages from technical project team inputs, system requirements analysis, system design specifications, technical system design, technical procedure development, configuration control requirements, test and training specifications, and programming notes.
Assists in creating project plan, etc. for completing documentation.
EDUCATION/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience that is required for the specific job level.
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Thorough knowledge of information mapping concepts
Skill in investigation and analysis
Skill in preparation of written material
Proficient with the following software: Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio); Adobe (Acrobat Professional); SharePoint.
Skill in business communication and training
Skill in evaluation of documentation
Skill in production and quality control
Skill in understanding and focusing on the clients' needs, establishing credibility and building relationships with clients
Skill in editing writing for punctuation, syntax, and grammar
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public
Typically requires five or more year's demonstrated experience of technical/business writing.
OPTIONAL/ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Experience with relational databases (SQL Server) and related technologies a large plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
