Summary:
MICO, Inc. is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Engineering Team as a Principal Engineer.
The Principal Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Engineering Team by performing design and analysis to support research and development of MICO products. This role will focus on longer term strategic concepts and designs that will be required for future products.
#### Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Will include, but not limited to the following areas:
Research and establish function and design requirements to determine potential feasibility or application.
Responsible for design / development activities which may include leading, participating in, coordinating or supporting:
Concept, planning, design and execution stages
Risk assessment / DFMEA
Prototyping
Testing
Design Reviews
Verification and Validation
Assist in the creation and release of Product Requirements, Design Specifications and Design Description for assigned designs. Responsible for recording and sharing technical knowledge gained with colleagues.
Collaborate with sales staff and customers to develop conceptual system designs.
Serve as technical leader for multiple simultaneous projects and be responsible for ensuring that design activities are coordinated per project needs.
Lead and/or oversee internal and external design reviews for accuracy and cost effectiveness.
Provide technical assistance to manufacturing departments during system construction and integration.
Identify, investigate and recommend improvements in products or Engineering systems.
Actively participate or lead the development and standardization of best practices, engineering processes, procedures and work instructions for the Engineering department.
Be a liaison/point of contact between the Design Engineering team and Quality and/or Supply Chain Management.
DFMEA/Risk Analysis point of contact for the Design and Manufacturing Engineering team.
Mentor, guide and provide leadership to engineering personnel and serve as a knowledge resource for engineering tools and procedures.
Look for and recommend product and process improvements in support of corporate continuous improvement initiatives.

#### Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 10 years related experience or an equivalent level of experience and education is required. Masters Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred. Experience leading engineering teams and estimating efforts to reach project milestones as well as coordinating team activities to meet scheduled goals is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts as required for the completion of the project and duties assigned.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to operate Windows based computers. Advanced knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to use Microsoft Project Server. Ability to use Pro-E engineering software.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
