Senior Application Engineer

POSITION DUTIES:
Responsible for actively driving and managing the overall technical sales and marketing process to support the design of Phosphor at leading customers and supporting channel partners. Work in conjunction with the technical sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for Phosphor. Provide significant contribution to new product definitions and gain exposure to all levels and all functions within the company. Anticipate, identify and close on the technical issues in customer opportunities. Collaborate extensively with sales, product marketing, engineering, logistics and manufacturing to create strategic and creative solutions for customer requests. Coordinate with sales as a customer interface and work closely with internal team members to manage sales/customer specific projects. Drive product management and development teams to meet customers technical needs. Represent product to customers and at field events such as tradeshows and conferences. Own competitive product analysis and product application presentation/sales tool preparation. Assist with sales training and product seminars at customer and channel partner locations. Create and present papers and articles for publication.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:
Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Chemist or related occupation.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Experience must include: experience in phosphor application for LED Lighting; data analysis and Optical Modeling Software; new product development for high volume manufacturing; working cross-functionally within the organization while participating in multiple projects; color science and material characterization; and Microsoft Office. Experience and skills may be gained through academic coursework and concurrently while pursuing academic studies.
