Position
Summary:
This position is primarily focused on the customer service and inventory management aspects of Managed Services. Activities include the material handling aspects of Thermo Fisher Scientifics Managed Services core offerings such as: product receiving, stocking, product disbursement, inventory delivery, chemical handling, glass washing, and other basic inventory management activities. This position will utilize the functionality of systems and applications in support of various inventory/chemical management and Microsoft Office suite of programs. The tools that will be employed would include various scanners and desktop computers. Customer interface communication skills are required. It is also expected that this position will have a basic understanding of the performance metrics applicable to site specific activities.
Position
Responsibilities:In addition to serving as a transactional buyer for Customer, this position will be responsible for coordination of asset management requests and the following:
All requisitions (capital and operating) for supplier as well as non-supplier requisitions under $10,000
Orders within scope include but are not limited to:
orders up to $50K,
orders placed through SAP and other customer legacy systems, as well as pre-quoted capital and orders for off-site services.
Negotiate best pricing with suppliers on every transaction
Resolve open invoice issues (working with AP in both Customer and Supplier)
Follow up on order deliveries or outstanding issues with end-user and supplier
Equipment parts not installed by a supplier
Reconcile price differences
Communicate specification changes to suppliers
Product/Equipment returns
Identify and propose equivalent product conversion matches
Report conversion savings
Run/create reports on open orders, backorder or usage
Attend weekly/monthly meetings
Process all orders fitting established criteria on customer's behalf.
Other duties may include:
Process, expedite and act as a point of contact for questions regarding systems, processes and supplier questions
Emails (200-250/week) and phone calls (70-75/week) from customer end-users and suppliers
Manage back-order report and end-user contact
Provide support to Sales Rep
Technical support for product searches
Performs other duties as assigned
Essential Functions:
Follow well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP's & work instructions. Take direction from Site Supervisors (and Team Lead) regarding daily duties.
Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various customer reports to ensure customer requirements are met.
Communicates with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems.
Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and enhancements without the presence of site trainer and management team.
Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times.
Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.
Utilizes systems or performs the functions that support various inventory and chemical management programs
Access & utilize Thermo Fisher Scientifics' Intranet and SharePoint document management system.
Minimum Requirements/
Qualifications:
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Must display a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific
Must maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics' Four-I Values.
Must possess a High School Diploma; college degree in life sciences preferred.
Must be able to use a computer and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software.

Working Conditions:
Works primarily at customer locations, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments.
Extensive walking may be required.
Must be able to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to sit at a computer and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.
Must possess the operating skills to use hand held scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as necessary.
Must be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks.
Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, and safety glasses.
Must be able to work overtime as required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
