This position is funded from the Commonwealth''s annual operating budget.Duties:
The DMH is mandated by Regulation, to conduct comprehensive investigations concerning allegations of abuse and neglect; rape; deaths; theft; incidents which are dangerous, illegal, or inhumane in nature; and crimes, misconduct, or administrative irregularities involving DMH clients, programs, facilities, and people with mental illness. The Investigations Manager administers the investigation process for the geographic area covered for both DMH investigations and investigations which are assigned to the DMH by the Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC). This includes determining which DMH incidents are investigated; supervising and providing technical assistance to regional and facility investigators; conducting high profile investigations; providing training; monitoring that corrective actions are taken in response to investigations; and working with state and local law enforcement officials. The Investigations Manager reviews all Complaints and DPPC Intakes, assigns Complaints and DPPC Intakes for investigation, directs and supervises the conduct of investigations, monitors that investigation time lines are met, and reviews and approves final investigation reports
Qualifications:
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory or managerial experience in business administration, business management, or public administration and (B) of which at least four years must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A Master''s or higher degree with a major in business administration, management, public administration, industrial engineering, industrial psychology, or hospital administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.
Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

Bachelors degree with a major in human services or a related area of concentration. (A Bachelors degree with a major in criminal justice or related area of concentration, along with practical human service experience may be substituted for the preferred educational requirement); Ability to collect and analyze information through questioning individuals, conducting record reviews and examining documents; Prior clinical, social service or public safety investigation experience; Excellent writing and oral communication skills; Knowledge of the mental health service system; Ability to exercise sound judgment; Ability to deal professionally and effectively with others; Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
