Job Description
This position supports EdR at the University of Kentucky residence halls.
This position will be an EdR employee working with UK and EdR teams to oversee all physical aspects of a residential area and consult on the construction and opening of the future residence halls. Specifically supporting any maintenance and custodial work at the building including but not limited to preventative maintenance, building walkthroughs, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, wall repair, painting, and all other work needed to maintain the buildings in the highest standard possible.
Maintains the physical condition of the property according to operating and safety standards.
Organizes, prioritizes, and ensures that service requests and repairs are made correctly and on time. Handles maintenance calls after hours; serves on-call as necessary.
Secures bids for capital improvement projects and oversees contractors.
Maintains the purchase order system and the maintenance request logs to ensure a high degree of resident satisfaction. Utilizes AMSI/eSite to successfully manage maintenance requests.
Assists with key control
Oversee room preparation for move-in and after move-out
Prepare weekly and monthly reports
Adheres to the loss prevention program and maintains a preventive maintenance program.
Interacts with university, EdR, residents, parents, student organizations, community groups, etc.
Oversees the hiring of maintenance technicians and custodial personnel and helps build the team.

Required Experience
Must have a minimum of three years of experience in university or student housing maintenance.
Previous supervisory experience.
Prior renovation, new construction, or major capital improvement experience.
High School diploma and certification.
Due to property staffing limitations, position requires that individual be able to work scheduled hours on a consistent basis and, if necessary, after hours or during the weekend when requested.
A demonstrated ability to be accurate and precise with work.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills including ability to interact professionally with university officials and maintain positive interactions with residents.
Must be able to efficiently utilize MS Office products to accomplish work tasks.
