Daktronics, Inc designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of display systems to customers in a variety of markets throughout the world. We focus our sales and marketing efforts on geographical regions, markets and products. The primary categories of markets include Live Events, Commercial, Transportation and Schools and Theaters. Daktronics manufacturing follows a focus factory concept paralleling these four markets.
The Facilities department supports operations at Daktronics and is responsible for facility upkeep and improvements, material handling and general machine and tool repair.
1. Performs preventative maintenance and repair of facilities and machines including electric and pneumatic tools, lifts, crimpers, wire strippers, air compressors, cranes, vehicles, saws, air compressors, paint equipment, and all production support equipment.
2. Troubleshoots mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, or electronic problems and works with local contractors, and equipment service representatives.
3. Tracks work and parts usage on maintenance management software (EAM)
4. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to minimize production down time, including material handling, relocation of plant equipment and general upkeep of work areas.
5. Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team; work with minimal supervision; organize and prioritize work.
6. Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.
7. Become knowledgeable of company policies and procedures.
8. Identify and enforce plant safety standards and practices.
Requirements
1. High School Diploma/GED required. Pursuing or has a 2 year degree or schooling in mechanical or automotive related fields preferred. Prefer specific training in equipment maintenance, general mechanical or troubleshooting. Must have knowledge and experience with hand tools and basic power tools.
2. Experience operating cranes, forklifts and skid steer loaders preferred.
3. Good communication skills to effectively discuss repair requests and procedures with crew leaders, techs and equipment operators. Fluent in English; written and verbal.
4. Basic computer skills to look up and track spare parts.
5. Ability to read and interpret schematics, parts diagrams and parts diagrams.
6. Ability to lift heavy (45lbs) and/or awkward items. Depending on workload, be able to stand and/or sit for the full shift.
7. Ability to distinguish and identify wire colors.
8. Ability Work with some odors (paint/solder).
9. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle record will be checked.
10. Background screen may be conducted.
