Backup Administrator

Will design, document, administer, and operate a complex backup infrastructure; configures and installs backup agents on both Linux and Windows environments for IT Services managed systems; will configure and maintain a backup Storage Area Network; will work in a highly dynamic team environment; independently plans or leads projects of moderate size (such as 2-3 team members), complexity, and duration; will troubleshoot and support customer issues. Duties associated with this position involve working on a video display terminal 75 percent of the time and walking, some lifting and carrying, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling to work with and move computer equipment; available for support and maintenance during off hours.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the areas of employment; one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Commvault software suite or equivalent enterprise backup solutions ; experience with tape libraries and equivalent tape technologies; experience with system firewalls such as Windows Firewall, IPTables, and Shorewall; familiar with common networking protocols, firewall configuration, and troubleshooting with excellent deductive skills; familiar with storage protocols such as CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, FC, etc. to connect to shared storage; able to identify and implement processes based on ITIL best practices; able to understand and accept the need to support a 24/7 data center; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and with a team to accomplish complex tasks.
