Group Benefits is looking for a Leave Specialist for our Leave Services Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for managing family medical leaves for our customers'' employees. Since this is a fast-paced job where attention to detail counts, and your decisions have a direct impact on peoples'' professional and personal lives, you must demonstrate the ability to make and effectively communicate decisions within tight timeframes while integrating knowledge of various federal and state regulations and specific customer service level agreements.
Responsibilities:
Manage caseload of family medical leaves for assigned customers, including review of medical information, to render determinations on family medical leaves in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations
Ensure receipt and appropriateness of medical documentation to support leave determination
Manage process and required paperwork (electronic and hard copy), using department-specific applications to document activities and manage/complete tasks in accordance with quality and timeliness protocols
Respond to inquiries from customers and their employees
Research and resolve leave-related issues or escalate to next level
Qualifications:
Associate''s Degree preferred or equivalent experience, plus at least two years'' progressively responsible experience in a customer-service environment.
Demonstrated ability to gather/analyze information to make decisions from multiple sources, including: employees, medical providers, federal/state regulations, department policies/procedures, and customer service level agreements.
Excellent telephonic communication and customer service skills to solicit information and convey decisions to a variety of audiences clearly, succinctly and diplomatically.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and tasks for a large caseload.
Strong written communication skills to accurately and clearly capture case status, actions taken, and decisions made.
Ability to work independently and as a member of the team to achieve individual and unit objectives. Ability to think creatively to support business process improvements.
Strong computer skills in data entry, basic MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook required. Experience in benefits administration or disability claims handling preferred.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
