Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, but following existing policies and procedures as well as all applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, is responsible for originating and servicing all types of commercial loans within established lending policies and guidelines. Responsible for interviewing loan applicants, explaining loan programs and underwriting loan requests. Directs the processing, documentation and closing of loan within his/her area of responsibility. Provides leadership and direction within specific business unit and keeps the Regional Managing Director informed regarding developments within his/her area, consulting with him/her on all major decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Works closely with subordinate staff evaluating their performance, developing their abilities, and improving their output. Is responsible for the selection, placement, counseling, and salary administration of all staff in his/her areas of responsibility. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
2. Works with subordinate staff to ensure the accurate and timely achievement of all applicable production, credit quality and servicing goals and objectives. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
3. Responsible for the production of commercial loans, including: interviewing loan applicants, gathering applicable financial data, determining the business needs, identifying the appropriate loan product, assists with the underwriting process and makes recommendations for appropriate loan term and rate. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
4. Reviews and approves loans within authority level or if beyond authority level, determines whether the loan should proceed to the next level of approval. This duty is performed weekly, about 15% of the time.
5. Directs the processing, documentation and closing of loans in his/her area of responsibility and ensures full compliance with all applicable lending policies and regulations. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.
6. Responsible for monitoring loan repayment activities and taking appropriate action on past due accounts. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.
7. Responsible for developing new business and growing/retaining existing business relationships. This duty is performed weekly, about 15% of the time.
8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as advanced accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to four years of college, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 2 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
