Description
Position: Joint Fires Observers Course (JFOC) Instructor
Location: Fort Sill, OK
Summary
Provide resident and mobile training team instructors for the JFOC instruction to multi-service and coalition students
Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate students on JTAC and JFO tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) under field, simulated, and classroom conditions
Tailor individual training sessions to create situations requiring the student to perform techniques in areas of weakness
Instructors shall schedule on post ranges, oversee management and transportation of field logistical support, and supervise an observation post
Training will include but is not limited to classroom, hands-on, simulation/virtual, field environment and exercises, combat scenario driven, and live fire in a realistic and safe environment
Education
Army Basic Instructor Course or equivalent service school graduate preferred
Graduate of the one of the following courses preferred:
Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Qualification Course
Joint Fires Observer Course (JFOC)
Forward Air Controller (Airborne) (FAC A )
Precision Strike Suite - Special Operations Forces (PSS-SOF)
Experience
Knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of the Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT) simulator
3 years verifiable operational experience as a JTAC, FAC(A), Army MOS 13F or Marine MOS 0861
Well developed briefing skills required. Ability to clearly present technical approaches and findings. Must be capable of instructing current tactics, techniques and procedures involved with Close Air Support.
Recent combat experience desired
Simulation/simulator experience preferred
Joint level communications, intelligence, Fires TTPs, and Joint Targeting
Instructors shall read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently and maintain good communication skills with cadre and students.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Position upon award of contract
EOEEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
