Summary
Provide Software Configuration Management (SCM) support and service activities including maintaining the SCM software and server infrastructure; assisting development teams with automating their software build processes; process improvements around SCM day-to-day activities and performing software installations. Analysis & documentation of processes as well as cross-project training with other team members to ensure application environments and release procedures are up to date and well understood.
Purpose and Mission
Support project managers and IT staff as a technical point-person for SCM capabilities on their projects. (40%)
Assist with identifying and implementing improvements to help software development teams with their deliverable.
Perform research and development on new tools and capabilities to help the improve software delivery process.
Responsible for SCM participation on activities related to application development
Provide technical direction to project team members regarding the SCM function
Responsible for advising project teams on SCM best practices
Own problems/tasks/projects and work them through completion. (40%)
Monitor SCM servers and software via monitoring tools.
Respond to and help to resolve production issues as needed.
Identify, analyze and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Improve work function processes by working within the team structure. (20%)
Collaborate with project teams to support architectures and follow the defined framework guidelines and standards.
Follow recommended procedures and documentation practices for all work
Assist with setting the standards for SCM procedures/practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
1 - 2 years of Software configuration Management
Understanding of Software Configuration Management concepts and processes including
software version control systems
software build systems
configuring of software build pipeline
Experience with operating systems and scripting languages in support of software builds and deployments including
Windows IIS and Unix
shell scripts
ruby
Must be customer Service focused
Ability to document processes
Technical problem solving abilities and attention to detail
Team oriented and ability to collaborate with CM and development teams
