As a member of our dynamic Signature Bank Credit team, you will assist loan officers in collecting, reviewing, and analyzing financial information on existing and prospective loan customers. The Credit Analyst will also prepare written loan presentations and annual reviews that are used in the credit approval and loan review processes, analyze the degree of risk for credit requests and offer recommendations to minimize the Bank's risk, and maintain a working knowledge of industry standards and ever-changing banking regulation through ongoing training, and customer interaction.
Successful candidates must have the ability to exercise professional judgment and decision making based on the philosophy of Signature Bank and within the interest of the Bank's growth and profitability goals. Candidates should have well developed interpersonal skills needed to work with department personnel and assist other departments as needed, the ability to follow through on assignments with minimal supervision, and a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Analyze financial and credit information pertaining to prospective and existing customers, provide subjective and objective risk taking, and summarize this information in a detailed written analysis (Loan Presentations).
- Spreading and analyzing financial statements for existing and prospective clients.
- Assist Bankers in preparation of monthly/quarterly loan file comments.
-Monitor and report on collateral margin coverage positions such as; 1. Accounts receivable agings and borrowing base certificates, and 2. loans secured by marketable securities
-Prepare various periodic reports as requested by Senior Management (Watchlist, exceptions to loan policy, companies losing money, commercial real estate portfolio report, etc.)
-Attend and participate in credit committee meetings.
-Prepare and implement various policies and procedures as needed or requested.
-Responsible for keeping current on all lending and credit compliance and regulations; disseminating this information to the staff, being a resource for questions from bankers, and ensuring proper procedures are followed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- SBA underwriting experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills to conduct initial loan analysis and monitor a loan's progress.
- Has ability to organize and prioritize time and activity under minimal supervision.
- Four year degree in business or related field with 3 plus years of banking or credit department experience.
- Has ability to work in a team setting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills: Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel and Baker Hill (or WinFast)
- High level understanding of the internal process a company goes through when booking sales, company collection process and payable process (for use during field exams).Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
