Summary: This position will provide engineering support and apply intensive and diversified engineering principles and practices and makes independent decisions on engineering problems and methods in electrical systems, with a focus on power, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems as they apply to large academic institutions; visual inspection of construction work as necessary, analysis, and support of maintenance operations. Duties associated with this position involve other duties will involve working at construction sites, access to work areas by ladder, scaffold, hatchways, ramps, and similar means; outdoor work on a variety of floor and ground surfaces including climbing and entry into confined spaces. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in electrical engineering; five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in electrical engineering including design, methods, materials, codes, maintenance, and operation of appropriate systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications: Professional engineer in training in the state of Michigan or Professional Engineering Registration in the state of Michigan; five years of experience in cross discipline project coordination, developing studies and presentation materials for upper administrative levels, and coordinating all aspects of a large institutional power distribution system; experience and knowledge of Infrastructure Planning and Facilities and/or facilities structure, processes, and procedures; knowledge of University policies and practices; experience with Microsoft Office Suite 2010, use of presentation and database software, FAMIS, and Unifier; strong communication skills (oral and written); established problem solving skills; good customer relations/service skills; ability to work as an effective member of a team is essential; ability to multi-task yet give attention to detail with frequent interruptions; self-starter who possesses good decision making skills and demonstrate the ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
