The Human Resources Manager provides strategic leadership to ensure alignment of HR initiatives with plant and corporate objectives, building and maintaining effective relationships with the workforce, and engaging the employees and plant management in organization design activities that foster and sustain a high performance work culture. Manages and resolves personnel and employment issues and develops and implements HR-based solutions to business problems.
The Human Resources Manager's essential functions include:
Serve as a business partner to plant leadership in all Human Resource related issues.
Manage the day-to-day Human Resource department activities in a 24x7 manufacturing facility.
Execute Company Human Resource policies, procedures and communications at facility level.
Oversee all location labor relations functions including grievance administration and disposition, including preparing for arbitration hearings; manage, interpret and administer the facility's labor contract(s) and work rules; lead efforts to develop and maintain positive and progressive labor relations climate in partnership with the VP, Labor Relations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with union representatives; coordinate facility collective bargaining needs, including strike plans, with management. Works with legal/labor relations on contract negotiations and escalated grievance processes.
Ensure legal compliance on Human Resource related issues including ADA, EEO/AA FMLA, Sarbanes-Oxley, FLSA, COBRA and harassment. .
Oversee processing of facility hourly and salary payroll, vacation and attendance tracking.
Handle employee questions and issues including those regarding benefits, Human Resource policies and procedures, FMLA, attendance, etc.
Oversee hourly and salary recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes - both internal and external hiring. Coordinate hourly and salaried staffing requirements with facility managers and gains necessary approvals prior to execution.
Oversee salary planning processes and ensure delivery and integrity of performance feedback.
Support and deliver Company-wide initiatives, such as Policy Deployment, required compliance training, benefits administration, etc.
Oversee administration and accuracy of required HRIS transaction (terms, hires, transfers, etc.).
Review and approve responses to Unemployment Claims and testify on behalf of the facility at UC hearings.
Detect employee relations issues, working with site and corporate leadership to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale. Counsel managers, supervisors and employees on employment issues.
Ensure the execution of key plant HR initiatives and processes to drive continuous improvement in the areas of organization effectiveness, staffing, employee relations, training and development, benefits, employment practices, and compliance.
Support facility environmental, health and safety (EHS) initiatives

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource or related field is required.

years' experience managing Human Resources in a unionized manufacturing environment.
2 years' experience working with organized labor and labor contract administration.
Collective bargaining experience as lead spokesperson or second chair is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of Labor Relations and NLRB regulations is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and other government compliance programs.
Strong PC skills, including Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proven ability to work in teams, both as a team leader and a team member.
Strong business acumen.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Broad knowledge of safety, training and development, employee relations, performance management and organizational planning.
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of benefits and compensation programs.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
