We are looking for a Network Engineer for an upcoming proposal award. This is a virtual/remote position. The candidate will work as part of a team of senior-level security engineers collaborating with the clients remote sites and senior personnel in support of network security protection activities across the organization. The candidate will be responsible for development and implementation of standardized network security processes, network technology configurations and network security controls at the enterprise level. Additional responsibilities will be providing subject matter expertise to Tier 3 on-site network personnel as well as creating remediation strategies to address recurring security issues.
Duties include working with multiple teams of administrators involving multiple diverse networks at both the enterprise and local level. Candidate plans, supports and evaluates complex existing network systems and make recommendations for resources required to maintain and/or expand service levels. Provide highly skilled technical assistance in network planning, engineering and architecture, interfaces with internal/external customers to determine network security needs. Responsible for researching security issues related to network equipment OS and version upgrades. Candidate is responsible for conducting research of new technologies and implementation strategies. Candidate works with other groups within IS to resolve network related issues as needed. Candidate is responsible for conducting research of new network and security technologies and implementation strategies.
Lead team efforts as a primary network security Point of Contact (POC) between the IA Team and the client. Answer questions and provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) guidance on all network security related issues, ensure the completion and correctness of all NIST 800-53 remediation efforts and ensure compliance with Security policies and requirements. Ensure compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Travel to remote sites in the performance of Baseline and one or more assessment visits is required. Collaborate with network administrators and on-site information security personnel in the performance of network security duties for each visit. Specific duties include;
o Support creation of and manage new product baselines for network components including load balancers, Network Access Control (NAC)/port security, software platforms, etc.
o Facilitate site preparation for Inspector General (IG) audits to address current and potential network security vulnerabilities.
o Provide technical guidance and recommendations to maximize network availability and functionality.
o Perform analysis and diagnosis of network problems that arise from applying the new network baseline.
o Possess demonstrated vulnerability management expertise.
o Facilitate communication with stakeholder to ensure all requirements are being met.
o Track progress against work schedules.
o Evaluate and assess compliance with established IA policies and regulations.
Candidate must be US citizen with an ability to be granted a security clearance. Individual with an existing clearance adjudicated by a federal entity is preferred. Individual will be required to undergo a background investigation in order to gain access to classified/protected information.
Requires a bachelor''s degree or equivalent and five years of related experience. A minimum of four years working with network administration and management at a senior level.
Holds one or more of the following certifications: CISSP (preferred), CAP, CISA, CISM, or GSLC.
Excellent technical writing skills and knowledge of computer systems and networks.
Possess understanding of the following technologies: WAN (Logical Topology, Border Gateway Protocol, Virtual Private Networks), Load Balancing, Firewalls, Network Management/Monitoring.
Ability to interact in a positive and collaborative manner with other contractors, teams, senior management, and Government personnel.
Active working knowledge of core infrastructure technologies.
Solid project management, time management, and organizational skills.
Ideal candidate will have functionality, vulnerability assessment tools and NIST 800-53 processes, Information Assurance/security policy development, Security Architecture Design, development, and planning, security engineering analysis.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
