Position Title:Event Technology Operations Manager Reports To: Director of Information and Event Technology Direct Reports:Event Technician I. Major Function: The Event Technology Manager is responsible for audio-visual presentations in the property's meeting space, supports event technology sales, and manages the Event Technology staff. The position ensures the highest level of service during events by executing all activities based on standard operating procedures. The position strives to achieve and continuously improve both guest and associate satisfaction. II. Major
Responsibilities:
Directs and works with direct reports to execute activities that enable achievement of departmental and hotel goals.
Assists with implementation and execution of all event technology related corporate initiatives, and promotions.
Responsible for the servicing of all events; maintains customer satisfaction to insure retention and growth of business through referrals and repeat events.
Assists with soliciting Event Technology sales.
Collaborates with Sales, Convention and Event Managers to develop and coordinate convention events in the property.
Establishes and manages a network of outside AV re-rent support companies to obtain favorable discounts and preferential service e.g., free pick-up and delivery.
Executes the administrative processes associated with event technology operations.
Participates in event technology operational reviews annually and makes suggestions to improve operations.
Schedules staff to ensure that guest service and operational needs are met.
Maintains strong working relationships with guests/clients, local and national suppliers, staging companies, and audio visual consulting companies.
Communicates effectively with hotel departments outside of Event Technology.
Maintains equipment and purchases replacement or new equipment as necessary; ensures inventory levels are kept in accordance to corporate guidelines.
Ensures event technology back of the house areas are cleaned and maintained.
Ensures equipment is recovered from events and properly secured.
Initiates and maintains the proprietary audio visual department computer system.
Interviews and hires Event Technology team members.
Ensures a departmental orientation program is in place for associates to receive the appropriate new hire training.
Implements and supervises training initiatives for current and new associates.
Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
Administers associate progressive discipline procedures. Ensures hotel policies are applied fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
Participates in the development of the department's budget and supports the management of the profit and loss statement.
Manages department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
Ensures accurate customer billing for event technology products and services.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Continuously interacts with customers to obtain feedback on quality of product, service levels and overall satisfaction.
Effectively responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
Observes service behaviors of associates and provides feedback to individuals and/or managers; continuously strives to improve service performance.
Completes quarterly Meeting Planner Survey and participates in the development and implementation of corrective action to address service challenges; focuses on continuous improvement of guest satisfaction.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
