Ability to identify and actively solve problems, both independently and as a member of a team, is critical. Ability to maintain enthusiasm when presenting to and working with students is essential. Must be willing and able to work collaboratively with a team to achieve common goals. Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills are critical. Ability to organize time and tasks is essential. Strong computer and advanced technological skills are necessary. Summary: Represents Iowa Western CTE programs at off-campus recruiting events, including but not limited to high school visits and college/career fairs. Generates interest in CTE careers, as well as the corresponding programs of study, by working with Iowa Western faculty and staff to plan and execute career fairs and other on-campus recruiting and CTE exploration events. Meets with prospective CTE students on campus, and provides campus tours. Communicates with prospective CTE students and their families regularly through presentations, phone calls, written communiqu , and various electronic means. Serves as an advisor to new and continuing CTE students, providing admissions, registration, financial aid, college planning assistance, as well as academic advising. Must be willing to frequently travel throughout the region. Requires a willingness to work evenings and weekends periodically throughout the year, as well as additional hours when needed. Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to drive college vehicles.
Responsibilities: 1. Meets with small and large groups of prospective CTE students and their parents at on-campus events, as well as off-campus at high school visits and college/career fairs. Provides information on college services and resources, admissions and financial aid advising, and career and transfer planning assistance. 2. Develops and executes CTE recruiting events for high school students, teachers, and parents, including CTE fairs and competitions designed to promote Iowa Western CTE programs. Develops agendas and presentations, markets the events to prospective students, and organizes all aspects of the event. Presents to groups of prospective students and parents, and provides campus tours. 3. Hosts campus tours for CTE students, parents, teacher groups, or external partners. 4. Communicates with prospective students and their families regularly through presentations, phone calls, written communiqu , and various electronic means. 5. Assists incoming CTE students with admissions advising, career planning, registration, financial aid advising, and financial planning, including specific information regarding CTE-specific tuition assistance opportunities. 6. Plans and executes new student registration and orientation events for CTE students. Maintains frequent contact with incoming students regarding admissions and financial aid requirements, registration, and academic advising. Assists new students and parents with enrollment procedures, and provides orientation information. 7. Works with high school staff and CTE faculty to coordinate classroom visits and presentations at the high school to promote CTE programs and careers, not only to potential students but also to the faculty and staff at the high school. 8. Works with the Intermediary Network Coordinator to prepare students for the workforce by connecting business and education by promoting relevant work-based and work site learning activities and experiences to students, including job shadowing and internships, as well as high school faculty, including teacher tour learning experiences. 9. Actively seeks information and stays abreast of developments regarding regional career academies. Promotes participation in career academies to high school students and their parents. 10. Actively seeks information and stays abreast of developments regarding Project Lead the Way (PLTW) at both the state and regional levels. Promotes participation in Project Lead the Way to high school students and their parents. 11. Assists the Director of High School Outreach with concurrent enrollment registration for high school students in CTE courses. 12. Assists the Director of High School Outreach with orientation for concurrent enrollment students, providing information and presentations regarding CTE courses, programs of study, and careers, and promoting work-based work site learning experiences. 13. Assists the Director of High School Outreach with CTE initiatives and workshops. 14. Maintains detailed and accurate records regarding all aspects of specific job responsibilities, including but not limited to the number of student contacts, presentations, classroom visits, and tours. Collects, analyzes, and provides data to measure effectiveness of initiatives and programming (performance and outcome metrics). 15. Performs all other duties as assigned. Typical Physical Demands: Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May require light lifting. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires ability to distinguish letters or symbols. Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, telephone, faxes, and copiers.Typical Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an office environment. Salary Range: 32,000

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
