TECHSTAFF is actively seeking Quality Engineers for a position outside of Urbana, OH
Primary Activities/Duties:
Drive process improvements by systematic review of data, across any department of the company.
Maintain high product quality through continual process review and capability (Cpk) analysis.
Interpret customer and quality requirements and effectively communicate them to all parties.
Lead root cause analysis via cross-functional teams to determine corrective actions. Complete appropriate 8-D and/or 5-Why documentation.
Provide resolution of internal quality issues.
Conduct and/or review inspections and auditing of fabrication, paint and/or assembly processes and procedures.
Establish and document processes where lacking.
Reduce customer complaints through analysis and root cause determination. Communicate and follow-through with the customer.
Develop work instructions and train employees to the work instructions.
Drive Continuous Improvement to achieve a 'World Class' manufacturing environment through support of production system.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge &
Experience:
Associates Degree in Quality or minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibilities in quality assurance. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 with good auditing skills and 8-D problem solving methods.
Product / process evaluation and corrective action implementation (i.e. process mapping & PFMEA).
Investigative experience in metal forming, roll forming and welding preferred.
Knowledge of e-coating and powder coating a plus.
Knowledge of automotive quality requirements and familiarity with sheet metal production and inspection methods preferred.
Familiarity with creating work instructions and PPAP's.
Lean manufacturing - Toyota Production System experience preferred.
ASQ CQE certification also preferred.
Green Belt / Black Belt certification a plus.
Work Environment:
Must work in both office and plant floor environment.
