The DeCA operates a worldwide commissary system that provides quality grocery products at cost to active duty military personnel and retirees, members of the Reserve and National Guard, and their families. The agency employs about 18,000 people and its annual sales exceed $6 billion.

Operates an electronic checkout system, makes change, and verifies change fund and amount of currency received during an assigned shift.
Manages change machines ensuring proper amounts of cash and coins are available.
Assists customers by answering questions concerning prices, identification, and location of items.
Counts cash and negotiable instruments and to prepare an accountability report.
Manages the self-check-out registers assisting customers in the correct processing of their purchases.
Changes register tape, and clear routine equipment and scanning jams on registers.
Qualifications/Requirements
In accordance with the Group coverage qualification standards for clerical and administrative support positions, applications must include at least six months of general experience OR one full year of education beyond the high school level that has been completed in an accredited business, secretarial, technical school, junior college, college or university OR a qualifying combination of experience and education.
General experience is described as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to perform the duties of Sales Store Checker.
Qualifications will be evaluated based on levels of competency through KSAs (knowledge, skills and abilities).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
