The Buyer will work directly with management and their suppliers to procure manufactured products and will be responsible for the requirements planning to material receipt process. In addition, the Buyer will communicate with management to assist in the development, clarification and definition of end-user requirements. The successful candidate will also assist management to define the processes required to ensure world class service. This role will be responsible for processing daily transactions and administrative functions to complete deliverables within service level agreements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute activities related to supply chain functions and ensure that targets are met and quality is maintained, as per service level agreements/operations metrics
Assist product managers, branch managers and outside sales personnel to develop and maintain an inventory profile, reflecting our customer's requirements and ensuring world class delivery & service
Manage inventory levels at branch locations; maximize inventory turns, while maintaining stock levels required to service customer demand
Analyze market trends and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and schedule replenishment orders accordingly
Receive and validate incoming requisitions
Answer supplier and customer inquiries
Process data entry requests and conduct system inquiries
Follow up with suppliers on open order status
Enter supplier response details in system/Excel Reports
Adhere to company's procurement policies and procedures
Work with suppliers to assure deliveries are made
Conduct audit and quality checks=
Respond promptly to internal inquiries
All other duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Sourcing, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Finance or related degree
Minimum five years purchasing/sourcing experience in the distribution industry preferred
Experience in Mincron, Intellichief operating systems preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required
Proficiency with PowerPoint preferred
Strong skills in the areas of oral and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and problem resolution
Demonstrated ability to perform and adapt in a changing environment
Demonstrated leadership skills
Strong project management skills
Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter
Ability to be effective in a highly matrixed environment
Ability to effectively communicate with and influence multiple levels in the organization
Solid understanding of and experience with quantitative, qualitative and financial analyses
Strategic sourcing experience within a Fortune 500 company or in any manufacturing operations or supply chain positions preferred
Understanding of best practices in the following preferred; strategic sourcing, process/supplier implementation and change management
Knowledge of procurement operations and contract language preferred
Periodic travel (mostly local to the DC Metropolitan area) required; 5-10%

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
