SR. UNDERWRITER POSITION

Position Summary/Overview:
Our client. is seeking a motivated Underwriter that enjoys wearing multiple hats and
working in a dynamic environment to produce and manage a growth-oriented and profitable book of
business. The ideal candidate is an experienced Underwriter in Short Tail business for all types of
treaties, Cat, P/risk, Prorate with underwriting knowledge and background in Standard Casualty,
Multiline, Auto, with no heavy Casualty.
Responsibilities:

Achieve and monitor profitability on all existing accounts and implement necessary enhancements.

Perform analysis and evaluation of new developments and trends in the market and identify business
opportunities for new and existing
clients.

Perform pricing analysis, risk assessment and decision making as respects new and renewal business.

Review contract wording and endorsements to ensure accuracy of policy terms and conditions.

Consult support services (claims, accounting) for assigned accounts to assist in decision making
process.
Requirements:

At least 5-10 years experience as an underwriter.

Must be an experienced Underwriter in Short Tail business for all type of treaties, Cat, P/risk, Prorata,
and also have underwriting knowledge and background in Standard Casualty, Multiline, Auto, no
heavy Casualty.

Experience in the broker market is required

must have a history of good relationships with the
major reinsurance intermediaries.

Must be able to build a Business Plan to gradually develop a light casualty portfolio and, at the same
time, expand our short tail portfolio.

Must be willing to work in a multitask environment and be used to working in a non-actuarially
driven company.

Must be able to work in a team environment and follow the guidance of the head office.

Must have good marketing skills and be willing to travel.

Good understanding and use of underwriting (pricing) tools and Catastrophe modeling tools.

Professional
designations (CPCU, ARe) are a plus.

Background and experience with the Canadian reinsurance market is a definite plus.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
