Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated and qualified professional to assume the role of Refrigeration Engineer (ME) in our O'Fallon, MO location.
The Cooling Line of Business Refrigeration Engineer (ME) is responsible for the design, analysis, evaluation, verification and documentation of Cooling Systems for global new product development projects.
Responsibilities:
The Refrigeration Engineer will perform as a cross-functional team member to achieve the technical, schedule and budget objectives of product development projects. Incumbent will support the design, prototype construction, and testing of new products at internal and outside laboratories and facilities and support start up in factory locations as required. This position requires independent judgment and expert knowledge of mechanical cooling systems engineering. This individual must be able to partition and plan work; as well as work with internal and external suppliers and contractors to complete detailed design. Domestic and international travel as required and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities will also include:
Design of HVAC Systems - Including Air Handling Systems, Packaged DX systems, Evaporative cooling, piping and pumping systems.
Design, verification and qualification of thermal assemblies and components for electro-mechanical and thermodynamic systems.
Thermal component design and testing.
Mechanical packaging of cooling components and systems.
Qualifications:
BSME degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in a HVAC engineering product development function.
Experience designing vapor compression cycle cooling technology products.
Demonstrated working knowledge of HVAC systems.
Experience working with HVAC vendors to select and implement various subsystems.
Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and specifications
Experience using laboratory data analysis systems.
Understanding of 3d modeling software and 2d drawing creation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Creative problem solving and diagnostic abilities.
Ability to communicate complex technical requirements clearly and concisely.
Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplined design teams.
Ability to prioritize workload to meet demands.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Qualifications:
Experience with HVAC systems for Data Center Applications
Working knowledge of CAE systems for design and analysis.
Demonstrated knowledge of global regulatory requirements and design guidelines for cooling products. ASHRAE, AHRI, and other applicable standards.
Demonstrated experience working as a technical design lead for new product development.
