This position ensures the security and safety of clients and the facility. It develops and implements programs and schedules for clients and supervises Life Skills Worker staff or Mental Health Workers. The level of the employee is dependent upon the needs of the program and the qualifications of the incumbent.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures the safety and security of the facility.
Oversees the implementation of the client schedules.
Develops and implements systems to organize and monitor work activities.
Conducts effective supervisory conferences and performance evaluations with employees. Documents the content of such meetings and provides feedback thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Implements progressive discipline when needed according to the applicable policy in a timely manner.
Writes professional development plans in conjunction with employees to aid in their training and development thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Facilitates new employee on-the-job orientation.
Schedules employee training to ensure that all mandatory training requirements are met.
Conducts one ''full facility'' headcount each night.
Conducts fire drills during client sleeping hours, as scheduled.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year work experience with children or an Associate's degree or 60 (sixty) credit hours from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience with children.
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
Assertiveness, confidence and leadership abilities.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective time management skills.
Ability to promote positive behavior and manage resistant behavior.
Physical ability to safely and effectively manage aggressive behavior.
At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Valid driver''s license from employee's state of residence.
Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
