#### Primary Responsibilities
The Metrology Specialist is responsible for the oversight, calibration, and maintenance of analytical and microbiology equipment.
In addition, the Metrology Specialist must be sensitive to the demanding regulatory compliance requirements attending to the operation of a pharmaceutical testing laboratory.
This position presents the employee with an opportunity to expand in terms of both technical acumen and customer service skills, while offering exposure to management tasks within the company.
#### Reporting to
Quality Assurance Manager, Life Science Services, Fairfield
#### Specific responsibilities
Responsible for oversight, qualification, validation, calibration and maintenance of analytical and microbiology equipment.
Maintain and update master calibration list.
Prepare protocols related to validation and requalification of equipment.
Review calibration/qualification records supplied by third party vendors.
Play lead role in Out of Tolerance Investigations and prepare impact assessments when necessary.
Assist management in addressing and resolving Corrective and Preventive Actions.
Document all findings in compliance with cGMP standards.
#### Profile
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science degree and two years related analytical experience. Or
A minimum of 5 years of technical experience and knowledge in analytical laboratory operations and services.
General knowledge of chemistry and knowledge of various analytical techniques and methodologies.
Communication skills including grammar and composition.
Ability to work well with others & independently.
Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of another language besides English (French or Spanish) is an asset.

Repetitive movements: Data entry, various analytical chemistry techniques
Lifting of up to 50 lbs: Moving, carrying, loading and removing items
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time: Processing assignments, data entry, performing laboratory analyses
Keyboarding/Data Entry: Results entry
Attention to detail: GMP documentation
Working Conditions
This job is performed in an indoor temperature controlled environment.
Extended hours may be required from time to time.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
