Full-Time. Located on Maui.
Facilitate the completion of projects or tasks relating to the State and County Institutional Networks, business and commercial HSD fiber projects. This position supports related activities in the engineering office including building input and distribution requirements, system maintenance maps, address lists, and finalizing job completion reports. Monitors and logs upcoming projects, works with developers to insure all information is correct.
Essential Functions:
Prepares project estimates and tracks the progress of all projects.
Works closely with Contractors, State and County agencies and in house design engineers concerning new projects, insures mapping is received from and sent to developers.
Insures complete and accurate project knowledge is received from developers.
Inventory tracking of materials.
Updates all job completion databases as required by engineers.
Completes permitting applications, assists in getting permit approvals.
Acts as primary point of contact for developers as required.
Attends meetings and planning sessions with contractors, County and State officials. Keeps minutes and reports to engineers.
Maintains budgets for various projects, prepare reports.
Utilizes knowledge of business mathematics and accounting principles.
Submits projections to Outside Plant Design Manager for budget planning.
Prepares upcoming project reports for future budgeting.
Creates and updates files and records.
Prepares, opens, and receives all contractor bids and activities with regard to held projects.
Maintains working relationship with contractors.
Maintains working relationship with Electric, Telco and other utilities.
Utilizes working knowledge of contractor bids.
Regular attendance is required.
Qualifications: H igh school diploma or equivalent required. College degree in Engineering or related field is preferred. Experience with plant construction, contracting practices and accounting principles preferred. Stable employment history.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGES AND ABILITIES : Skills included: driving, lifting and carrying equipment, climbing, use of tools, and use of two-way radio. Must have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Working knowledge of construction techniques, contracting, accounting, and National Electric codes related to construction, maintenance, materials and design. Familiarity of OSHA, FCC and TWC regulations, specifications and requirements. Working knowledge of CAD supported hardware and software, PC programs including but not limited to: spreadsheet analysis, database, and word-processing software. Able to understand and graphically modify building infrastructure and strand map documentation using solid drafting skills. Must have a valid driver license and a clean driving abstract.
