Bronson Methodist Hospital has an immediate opening for a Unit Coordinator in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
No holidays required. Weekend resource may be required. Priority is to function as shift leader and clinical liaison with staff, physicians and management, providing continuity of leadership day to day. Acts as a role model, mentor, coach and resource person to staff to ensure that all unit standards are maintained and to encourage a team environment. Involved in assisting managers in attracting, developing, maintaining, and retaining qualified staff members. Duties may include assisting with hiring, orientation, monitoring and evaluating performance, problem solving, employee counseling, staffing and payroll. Serves as contact for internal and external customers. Patient care may be required at times to assist staff as needed with patient assignments as well as being charge for shift. Responsible for creating an environment which fosters positive customer service and meets quality standards, implementing new and monitoring ongoing processes. Must have BSN. BLS required. Current Registered nurse license in State of Michigan required.Advanced Nursing Specific Certification preferred.Department specific requirements as necessary such as PALS, BLS, ACLS etc.Variable shift. Flexible 8 & 12 hour shifts primarily between 0700-2300. May be asked to work 1900-0730 on occasion. Looking for a uncommonly proactive, creative, & results oriented leader with a skill set that will complement/balance the existing GSU leadership team.
