Summary of key duties and
Responsibilities: Develop, plan and direct the implementation of a standardized and systematic process to get technologies approved in new applications in a cost effective and efficient manner. Other major accountabilities include:
1.Develop and implement an engineering services/purchasing interface template that provides new profit streams or an offset to customer price down requirements.
2.Develop and implement key service strategies, which achieve long and short-term profit goals by effective planning, use of market intelligence, and value selling opportunities to the marketplace.
3.Optimize all costs associated with product approval engineering activities through the establishment of an organization that effectively functions with customers, technical organization and the customer teams.
4.Select, train, motivate and develop flexible, high-performance sales and service staff members which will meet desired profit objectives along with spearheading opportunities that identify any new market segments.
5.Integrate service and engineering initiatives with the Automotive Coatings manufacturing and technical strategy, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction at the lowest cost while maximizing asset utilization.Develop customer engineering strategies that provide margin improvement and the ability to maximize earnings from traditional core coatings layers.
6.Obtain customer engineering approval of products through coordination with customer engineering group and technical group.

Work Environment:
Provide engineering support to various customer teams in an office environment. Occasional travel is required. Will also spend significant time at the Cleveland Automotive Coatings Manufacturing location, Flint Applications Center, and various customer account locations.
Functional / Technical Skills:
Very strong negotiation, influencing, and financial management skills plus demonstrable market, customer awareness and product technical knowledge are essential. Detailed knowledge of all customer coatings/specialty products application equipment and processes. Ability to create a vision, lead a large team and interface effectively with technical, sales, marketing, and manufacturing management. Extensive experience in automotive assembly operations specifically in coatings application know-how and the business principles of the customer's operation. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to direct, develop and motivate direct reports as well as obtain cooperation from customers and in-house resources is mandatory.
Educational or Required Work
Experience:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering plus related work experience. Desired: MBA

Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior sales, Technical Service or other commercial role with a proven track record of leadership, sales achievements and people management. Experience must include coatings experience. Preferred: Experience working in an OEM Automotive Engineering Department (Ford, FM, Nissan, Honda, etc.)
Relocation will be considered.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
