MAVERICK Technologies is looking for a skilled experienced Designer to join our team in support of clients in our Charlotte office . The designer will participate in team efforts in the application of engineering services in the area of electrical, instrumentation, control systems to meet client project requirements.
This is an advanced design position within the Design Group responsible for the support of customers and project teams in Process Automation while demonstrating the essential competencies core to MAVERICK.
Must Have's:
Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
Approximately three to six years experience in an Industrial Controls Engineering environment
Ability to produce drawings using AutoCAD Electrical productivity tools
INTools / PSI / Intergraph CAD experience a plus
Experience with Solidworks or other 3D CAD tools a plus
Process Industry plant experience a plus
Principal Role, Responsibilities & Key Results Expected:
Possesses advanced knowledge of control system deliverables such as Control Panel Design Sets, P&ID;'s, Loop Drawings, Motor Elementary Drawings, Equipment Location Plans and Power Distribution Drawings.
Demonstrates an advanced ability to design Hardwired Controls/Interlocks, Communications Networks and Safety Instrumented Systems. Ability to prepare Instrument Specifications and Control Retrofit Plans.
Advanced knowledge of the hardware involved in Process Controls and Factory Automation projects.
Advanced ability to perform design calculations required for component sizing, loading and heat dissipation.
Advanced ability to prepare and maintain project input/output lists, bill of materials, conduit and cable schedules, instrument data sheets and other non-CAD deliverables.
Advanced ability to specify mechanical and electrical details for automation system deliverables.
Advanced knowledge of industry standards and codes related to automation system deliverables.
Working knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Visio
Working knowledge of and compliance with company and/or client CAD standards.
Independently produces electronic drawings with little or no supervision from engineers and Sr. Designers.
May supervise the work of one or more Designers or CAD draftsmen.

Education &
Experience:
AAS in Electrical Design and/or Drafting Technology or related degree preferred
Approximately three to six years experience in an Industrial Controls Engineering environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
