The Medical Surgical Staff Nurse uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate highest quality nursing care. As a patient advocate, he/she coordinates the care of the patient through collaboration and appropriate delegation. The Nurse provides age-specific care and teaching to selected patient population(s). He/she monitors and recognizes changes in physiologic status, takes appropriate action based on assessment, and evaluates and documents finding and patient response. Interacts frequently with all patient service departments; utilizes interdisciplinary input to plan, implement and evaluate care. The RN staff nurse may be called upon to act as the charge nurse for their department at the discretion of their Director and/or House supervisor. The RN Charge nurse makes patient care assignments based on patient care needs. In addition during high census times the RN Staff nurse maybe called upon to float to other departments to take patients. Cross training will be provided by Mesa View Regional Hospital as needed to meet the needs of the hospital and the patients. All other duties as assigned within the scope of Nursing practices.
Requires an associate''s degree and is licensed as a Registered Nurse in Nevada. BLS also required, with PALS certification preferred.
Prefer 1-2 years of experience.
