Development Characterization Technician

The Development Characterization Technician will be responsible for inspecting processed parts to ensure they meet customer standards
Primary
Responsibilities:
Review tests needed to be performed via instructions.
Learn to operate Blue Light, SEM, TGA, Dilatometer, XRF, XRD
Utilize all perform testing with Development Inspection and Test Equipment.
Perform visual inspection on parts needed prior to testing.
Perform appropriate lab testing or Blue Light Inspection according to job folder.
Follow in-process inspection procedures as needed to verify current operation meets customer and technical plan requirement's
Record and sign off on all applicable data defined in job folder.
Report results of all tests to Development Materials Engineer.
Maintain excellent records.
Key Performance Measurements:
Completion of assigned lab & Component testing
Accurate completion of assignments
Accurate documentation of all applicable data
Attention to detail with a focused goal of zero rework
Maintaining a clean and safe work area
Excellent record of attendance with ability to work overtime as needed
Assisting supervisor in developing processes that will improve operations
100% on-time delivery of assigned projects
Effective communication with supervisor, plant leadership and co-workers
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Required to lift 5-30 pounds up to 50 times a day
Work in brightly-lit room with concentrated chemicals and use of machine tools
Ability perform very detailed work with hand tools and machine tools
Minimum
Qualifications:
High School diploma.
Organized and accurate documentation skills with basic MS Office Understanding.
Mechanical Aptitude & Ability read from prints
Computer literate
3-5 years previous experience in Thermal Spray or Related Industry.
Desirable Previous
Experience:
Previous experience in thermal spray quality or aerospace quality
