Position(Dept Specific)Highlights:
The Emergency Department at Union Hospital is a 39 bed unit with 4 trauma bays, a Forensic Exam Room, and 2 Isolation rooms. Our ED averages over 55,000 visits per year. The ED has a collaborative and dedicated team of physicians, nurses, ED Techs, phlebotomists, x-ray techs, case management personnel, registration personnel, chaplain representatives, and internal and external security. The department is staffed with a dedicated leadership team, clinical educator, and day and night shift charge personnel. Our ED has a 24-hour stat lab along with advanced psychiatric and stroke care using telemedicine for mental health and stroke consultations. Our Chest Pain Accreditation has also allowed us to improve our cardiac care processes to decrease our triage time to intervention.
We utilize 24-hour triage and ENA recommendations for nurse to patient ratios. We collaborate with the medical staff to implement protocols that help reduce length of stay and enhance patient satisfaction to promote the highest level of continuity, coordination, and comprehensive care. Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for ensuring completion of all aspects of patient care to an assigned group of patients. The RN must be proficient and organized with assessing, planning, evaluating, and teaching various patient populations. The RN must possess the ability to work as a member of a team that provides compassionate care of the highest quality.

Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited RN program with a pending or current Indiana RN license.
Must be certified in the Health Care Provider BLS is required
Previous medical hospital experience is preferred, but not required
BSN preferred, but not required
Must be able to lift and/or pull 50lbs or more
Enjoy working in an environment with collaboration, skill and a fast paced department
Keyboard skills and working knowledge of computers is important
Must be flexible in regards to scheduling and patient assignment to meet the needs of the unit
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, and critical thinking ability
