JOB DUTIES: Participate in all phases of product development including: planning, analysis, design, development, testing and ongoing support. Supervise projects as a hands-on lead for the development and implementation of new features, components and services from specifications employing Java based technologies. Lead requirements analysis and development planning activities. Lead resolving testing and production issues when they arise. Produce detailed and accurate documentation relating to assigned tasks when necessary. Promote highly-collaborative, team oriented environment, working closely with all levels of product development staff and third party development teams. Mentor lower level software engineers within the team, this position has no direct reports and does not manage or supervise any staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field and three (3) year of experiences in the job offered or three (3) years of experience as a software engineer or programmer analyst or Bachelors degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a software engineer or programmer analyst.
SPECIAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Experience must include the following: experience with object-oriented program (OOP) development, data structures, algorithms and software design and architecture; experience with Java-based programming languages (i.e. Core Java, JSP and J2EE); experience with Spring and Spring MVC; programming experience with Web-presentation technologies (i.e. HTML, CSS, Javascript); experience with Web Application Server (i.e. Weblogic, Websphere, Tomcat); experience with SQL and PL/SQL development and Unix scripting; knowledge of software development lifecycle best-practices (i.e. Test-driven development with JUnit, Source code management, continuous integration, design patterns, and dependency management); and strong oral and written communication skills. Experience may be earned concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, experience and training is acceptable.
