Job Description
Major Function
Broad responsibility and leadership for overall operation of a value stream. Implements Lean systems and strategies to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a technically qualified work force, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of managing the Value Stream to include:
Plans, direct, and coordinate all aspect of the product production based value stream processes in accordance with company objectives and operating budgets to satisfy safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Ensure that team consensus is used to thoroughly evaluate decisions
Developing employees
Ensure that decisions are rapidly implemented
Budget planning
Employment decisions
Performance assessment of all direct reports and team leaders
Administers engineering control functions to ensure product quality and reliability conformance
Engineering change coordination and implementation
Ensure all tooling issues are addressed
Responsible for prototype build process and coordinates with the Manufacturing and Design Engineers
Must coordinate and be responsible for schedule attainment and challenging status quo when schedules are unreasonable
Develop metrics to measure operating success
May act as a member of the current and new product development teams
Be accountable for all performance management responsibilities and instill in subordinates accountability
Coaching/Communication
Collaborate with Product Managers
Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are scientifically controlled and continuously improved
Responsible for all New Product launches
Other duties may be assigned
Required Skills
Requirements
Must have outstanding communication and management skills, with the ability to evaluate, develop and implement processes to improve manufacturing performance, structured know-how, and costs.
Specifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing Management, Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred.
SG 14: Above plus, 5 - 8 years of direct experience in production management.
SG 15: Above plus, 8 plus years of direct experience in production management.
