Global Steel Company looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator.
- Company is currently seeking an entry level EHS Coordinator to assume
responsibility for supporting a pro-active EHS culture for the plant, and for maintaining
its Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a relevant EHS,
engineering, or science curriculum
- Strong interactive management and analytical skills
- Good communication skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office and SharePoint applications
- Commitment to individual and organizational continual improvement processes
Experience:
- Previous experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with OHSA compliance, particularly: Powered Industrial Trucks; Cranes;
Control of Hazardous Energy; and Rail Safety
- Familiarity with RCRA, EPCRA, NPDES/SPDES, ISO 14001 and OHSAS
18001/ANSI Z10
Principle Duties/
Responsibilities:
- Act as key member of the plant management team, provide EHS advice to
management in support of EHS legal compliance, SMS & EMS conformance, and
achievement of EHS Objectives and Plans
- Support corporate EHS manager in ensuring EHS culture is adopted appropriately
throughout the plant
- Interface professionally with company employees, customers, medical providers,
government officials, and the public in all areas relating to the environment, health,
and safety
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of existing and proposed regulations
- Conduct and coordinate regular audits demonstrating environmental and safety
compliance at the plant
- Maintain and organize documentation demonstrating compliance with established
permits and company objectives
- Lead effective root cause analysis of incidents
- Provide technical training in areas relating to EHS to all levels of plant staff
- Develop and maintain the SMS & EMS procedures for hazard identification and risk
assessment and determination of necessary controls
Bottom line :
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Previous experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment.
