Successful candidates responsibilities include managing the administrators of databases and database servers. Analyze the database needs and develop a long-term strategy for data storage. Establish policies and procedures related to data security and integrity and monitor and restrict database access as needed. Oversee the design, maintenance and implementation of the systems that manage a database. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management.

Software Database Administrator (SQL Server DBA)
KEY
Responsibilities:
Directly supervises multiple employees in the database management and administration department
Manager has direct responsibility for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these employees
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Reads and writes TSQL
Oversees SQL Server Administrators and Developers
Oversees support and auditing of user accounts and security rights (SQL and NT Logins)
Creates database backup procedures as well as system disaster recovery processes
Creates or approves documentation detailing technical design
Coordinates and oversees installation of database solutions as needed.
Oversees system patches or security updates
Works with on-site or internal project managers or analysts to review problems, define and test solutions, and oversee report development for user management.
Provides support to the Administrators in repairing legacy systems (SQL 2000).
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:
MCTS/MCITP SQL Server 2012 Administration
BDE and .NET Client connectivity
Knowledge of Logistics / Supply Chain
Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
