This position is a Technical Antenna, Engineering role.
This position is accountable for providing both technical and project leadership between the Continous Engineering and Manufacturing functions. Leads analytical problem solving and develops corrective actions to manufacturing issues both quality and design related. Represents and promotes technological specialty within the Safety Switch and / or Loadcenter product offer. Serves as a technical expert and leader in problem resolution supporting Manufacturing Operations within the Lexington, KY facility.
Qualifications:
BSME or BSEE of four-year technical degree
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience with product development exposure
Possesses strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to lead teams of people
Knowledgeable of regulatory codes, standards, and industry standards
Capable of planning and scheduling product and / or lab testing exercises
Essential Functions:
A. Leads analysis and resolution of manufacturing / customer based concerns from a technical engineering support perspective while interfacing with Continuous engineer and keeping them abreast of issues at hand.
B. Evaluates and validates design changes, new part introductions and part conformance to stated design requirements (FAIRs - First Article Inspection Reports), makes decisions on conformity of parts, facilitates deviations which are then approved by the continuous engineer.
C. Serves as link, between Continuous and Manufacturing engineering. Involved in Pilot production runs providing feedback to Project team.
D. Leads team in problem root cause, determination via testing, part and assembly analysis, and 8D problem solving methodologies.
E. Capable of conducting tests necessary to arrive at problem root cause, familiarity with test flow software a plus.
F. Acts as a technical consultant on engineering specialty for anyone who needs the service (i.e. other internal locations, product support, and customer questions), suggests corrective actions to the related continuous engineering group.
G. Individual will be an effective hands on, engineer who is very capable of going to the manufacturing floor, understanding the process, leading teams to find root causes of issues, and leading teams to implement necessary changes to design, tool, and / or process.
H. Individual will work on complex problems in some cases where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
I. Remains abreast of the latest developments in engineering specialty primarily from an electrical product, code, and technology standpoint.
J. supports CE engineers (as required) on safety based investigations

A. regularly confers with Continuous engineering regarding design concepts and interpretation
B. recommends and contributes design modifications to improve manufacturing operation or quality of product
C. Capable of using good judgment and making sound conclusions based upon data
D. Creates, maintains, and modifies engineering records as required
E. Maintains spreadsheets or databases tracking B.O.M. change reports, PDCR (Product Design Change Request), or temporary deviations
F. Capable of leading and in some cases conducting testing where required, primarily electrical and mechanical endurance
G. Capable of developing testing schedules for annual product audit testing requirements
