Position
Summary:
The primary purpose for this position is to provide technical leadership and over technical responsibility for the success of solution design, implementation, system integration, testing, and delivery for large scale projects for clients in various industries.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Designs logical data models for databases and applications
Works with development team to do database performance and tuning.
Adapts a logical model in designing a physical model appropriate for the business and technical environment.
Employs business intelligence reporting tools and ETL tools
Comprehends and plans contingencies for risks of design choices Guides business intelligence team from requirements gathering to final implementation
Performs initial data quality analysis to diminish design and implementation risks
Creates and maintains data domains to improve data quality
Designs an overall data quality plan to minimize costs and maximize data integrity
Develops detailed test plans for comprehensive unit and integration testing and to meet all possible data outcomes

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors' degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field
At least five (5) years experience in overall project delivery including solution design, implementation, system integration, testing, and delivery
At least three (3) years experience installing, implementing, and delivering IBM InfoSphere solutions and products
At least three (3) years experience and product knowledge of the InfoSphere Platform (DataStage, Quality Stage, Information Analyzer)
Other Position Requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of relational databases, normalization and denormalization
Demonstrated knowledge of business intelligence and data warehouse best practices and procedures
Demonstrated team leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to communicates with business users in non-technical language
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Experience exhibiting thought and technical leadership and setting technical directions
Demonstrated knowledge of business intelligence and data warehouse best practices and procedures
Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and data architecture
Demonstrated ability working with ELT tools
Demonstrated ability architecting an ETL solution
Demonstrated presentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with InfoSphere Warehouse or Information Serve
Consulting experience
Experience with DB2
Essential Functions
The position exists to provide technical consulting solutions to customers and as such requires the ability to travel to and from customer sites and interact with customers on an ongoing and regular basis.
