Daktronics, Inc designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of display systems to customers in a variety of markets throughout the world. We focus our sales and marketing efforts on geographical regions, markets and products. The primary categories of markets include Live Events, Commercial, Transportation, Schools and Theatres and International. Daktronics manufacturing follows a focus factory concept paralleling these five markets.
Position located in Brookings, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a fulltime student. Ideal candidate must be available to work 15-20 hrs/week during the academic year and 20-40hrs/week during the summer.
Creative Services is responsible for creating animated CG and video content for Daktronics customers' video and ribbon displays. This student will assist in creating content for customers which will include:
1. Manipulating logos and graphics in Adobe Illustrator
2. Editing and compositing photos in Adobe Photoshop
3. Customizing catalog animations and outputting final files from Adobe After Effects
4. Designing and compositing content in Adobe After Effects
5. May also include some video editing in Adobe After Effects or Premiere and creation of 3D graphics in Maxon Cinema4D
6. Student may also assist with conceptual photo manipulations and the preparation of illustrated graphics for placement in sales proposals, publications and other marketing materials for multiple sales regions.
Other expectations for successful candidates are:
1. Work and effectively communicate with project managers, account managers and digital artists to accurately complete projects and meet deadlines.
2. Regularly and reliably report to work as scheduled.
3. Show initiative and responsibility to complete projects in a timely and professional manner.
4. Show continuous learning and improvement of skills and contributions.
5. Learn and use file structure used for creating and storing projects.
6. Assist full-time designers with photo conceptuals and duties as needed or assigned.
Requirements
1. Educational requirements: The ideal candidate must be a fulltime student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in graphic design, journalism or related degree and in their sophomore, junior or senior year of school. Only strong performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered and they must maintain an acceptable GPA.
2. Computer skills, including proficiency in design, video editing, 3D or compositing software are desired.
3. Good design and creativity skills.
4. Communicates and works well with others.
5. Ability to work, sometimes under pressure, to meet deadlines.
6. Well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated.
7. Fluent in English both written and verbal.
8. Background check may be conducted.
