GIS Technician
VHB is seeking a dynamic and talented GIS Technician to join our Bedford, NH team.The qualified candidate would provide a wide range of GIS services to a broad range of clients on environmental, transportation and land development projects.
Responsibilities:
Assist the GIS Manager in data organization and management, document procedures, and map production.
Assist the GIS Manager in applying GIS technology to perform data entry and manipulation.
Assist in geospatial analyses for environmental, transportation, and land development projects.
Setup GPS projects and post-process field data.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of GIS concepts, practices, and techniques related to developing, maintaining, and operating a GIS system.
Database development and maintenance principles.
Data collection and record keeping techniques.
Cartographic principles as it relates to GIS.
Knowledge with Trimble GPS Technology.
Experience in integrating CAD/GIS data.
Experience with ESRI ModelBuilder and Python scripting is desirable.
Qualifications:
0-2years of GIS experience required.
B.S. in geography, cartography, planning, engineering, computer science or a related field, or candidate for B.S. in 2014 in of these fields and demonstrated experience using GIS.
Experience with ESRI''s ArcGIS 9.x or 10.x software suite required.
